Deutsche Bank to host Women in Banking and Finance 8th Annual Forum

On Monday 22 August 2016, Deutsche Bank will host the 8th Women in Banking and Finance (WiBF) Annual Forum in Sydney themed ‘the scope of risk – courage vs caution.’

In the aftermath of the global financial crisis, studies have questioned risk-taking behaviours. And yet, risk-taking is often deemed essential to creating opportunity and opening up new possibilities.

The scope of risk – courage vs caution brings together three inspiring speakers who will draw on their perspectives of how risk-taking vs playing-it-safe can lead to personal and professional success.

Speakers:
—    Dr Philippa Malmgren, founder of DRPM Group, co-founder H-Robotics and former Special Assistant to the President of the United States on Economic Policy
—    David Gonski AC, Chairman of the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd and Coca-Cola Amatil Limited
—    Deng Thiak Adut, defence lawyer, community leader and refugee advocate

Deutsche Bank’s Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive Officer, Michael Ormaechea, said: “The Annual Forum is an important event on our industry’s diversity calendar and as such we are, for the 8th year, very proud hosts.

This year’s theme is of great interest to me having spent over 20 years in financial markets where risk management is part of the daily job. I have no doubt our three speakers’ own perspectives will make for a very insightful evening.”
