Deutsche Bank’s Corporate & Investment Bank team volunteer for OzHarvest and raise over AUD 30,000

On Wednesday 3 February, a team of 67 employees from Deutsche Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking business rolled up their sleeves and got Cooking for a Cause at the OzHarvest industrial kitchen in Alexandria.

Thanks to the volunteering grants that Deutsche Bank awards to all permanent employees in Australia under its Initiative Plus Program, OzHarvest will receive over AUD 30,000.

Bruce MacDiarmid, Co-Head of Investment Banking Coverage said: “Volunteering is an important part of our overall Corporate Social Responsibility program in Australia. Last year, 25% of our employees volunteered their time with a wide range of charities which is fantastic. Over the last 12 months, we have seen an increase in team volunteering because it is a way to participate in a great team building opportunity while doing something worthwhile for an important cause.”

Due to the hard work of the team, an impressive 650 nutritious meals were delivered the next morning to a variety of charities that OzHarvest supports including Rough Edges in Darlinghurst and The Fact Tree in Waterloo.

Lisa Dainty, Volunteer and Corporate Engagement Manager at OzHarvest, praised the Deutsche Bank team for their hard work and support:
“A big thank you from the OzHarvest team for joining us recently to ‘Cook for a Cause’! It was a pleasure to welcome your team into our kitchen and we very much appreciate your support of the work we do.”
